everything is much better. I hope people really enjoy this haunted house. Some A Cappella kids tested it and a girl came out crying. and it was not even on full run. we had lame stuff and everything is freaky….. but i think people will like it.
Last week Mr. Whisler called Kevin, Kathleen, Lulu, and I up to tell us he chose us to attend an Honor Choir Festival, in Cal State University Fullerton. He told us it was going to be all day, from 8 am to 9pm. At first I was not excited, and I was very lazy just to know that we had to wake up really early and leave really early. But the day comes and at first i was very tired and kind of mad, its my Saturday to sleep in and i have to be at some school doing something. But when we began to warm up thats when i got excited. I saw the music and i was very excited to see what it was going to sound like. The songs were Awake The Harp, Oh Shenandoah (a different arrangement), Ain’t got Time to Die (which was cool because we had sang that our sophomore year), and Worthy To Be Praised!. They looked pretty fun to sing and then were. We first began with Ain’t Got Time to Die which was pretty good because we knew it and it was fun. Then we went to sectionals, which meant every section goes to a separate room with different professors and were taught the songs, that was very cool. It felt so good to feel that everyone knew what was going on and just the way everyone sang was so different. Then there was the solo tryouts, and a singer from elijah was there to talk to us about singing, and i really learned a lot about singing. It was actually very inspiring haha. Then we went to a full rehearsal which was freaking awesome to listen to the full songs. It was really good to listen to a full sound and the songs just made everything better. Then after that was dinner. We went to Chipotle and had a good time, eating big burritos haha. Then it was time to get ready for the big Festival we were all waiting for. Our main director was the director for the Fullerton Chamber Singers and he was really cool. At the beginning of the day he told us there was going to be a huge surprise for us at the end of the day and we all were so excited. Then as the concert began there was three other honorary choirs that were selected to sing at this festival as well. They were Tesoro High, Murrieta Valley High (of course), and also CSUF University Singers. They were all really freaking good! It felt really good to listen to choirs that were just almost perfect. I mean their sound was great everything. And then as the CSUF Singers were singing our director revealed our surprise, and it was Eric Whitacre. He is a famous singer, song writer composer that has really great songs out there in the world. But he went to direct the CSUF singers which was really great to listen to his songs and to watch him direct. Then after it was our turn. We went up and we began our songs. It was really fun and it felt really good to sing those songs with such a big choir and with a good sound. At the end it was just like the end of a really good experience. You don’t want to leave and you learn to appreciate everyone and what everyone does. I mean were all music lovers there so you felt the energy. It was great i wouldn’t change anything if i had the chance. I thank mr. whisler for giving us this chance and just everyone that made it happen. Thank You.
